APRIL 24, 2018 // WINE

Hello, my lovelies!  My name is Jessica Norris and I am the head sommelier at Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group. I figured it was about time I introduce myself to you, since I made an appearance in our last blog post on white wine you should be trying, and you’ll be hearing more from me in the blogosphere moving forward.

How did I get my gig with this company you ask? In 2008, I started out as a server at the Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House in New York and worked my way through the ranks. During my time in New York, I fell in love with wine and the education that goes along with it, and by 2010 I became a Sommelier. From 2012 to 2016, I was the Wine Director of the New York Double Eagle Steak House, curating a list of 2,100 wine selections and helping to lead our team to winning a Wine Spectator Grand Award (no big deal). Eventually, I moved to our Restaurant Support Center and started working on the development and education of beer, wine, and cocktails for all three of our brands.

What’s so great about wine and cocktails…?  There is always something new to learn.  AND, there will never be a shortage of enthusiastic individuals just itching to dip their toes in the water!  So, if you are new to the wine and cocktail scene, or are a bit intimidated by the amount of information out there, don’t be – everyone started exactly where you are and I can promise you that the journey is not only ridiculously fun, but well worth the ride!

I hope this sheds a little light on who I am and why I love what I do. I’m glad we could take this time to get to know each other – I feel we’re closer already. Until next time, love your faces.

– Jess
